Welcome to COMPROMATH, where we have started to feature interviews with inspiring people who are
making a difference blogging as career.
Today, we're excited to introduce Lou Martin, the founder of
Product Review Mom, a popular blog that has turned into a full-time business.

Louida (Lou for short) is a mom of two teenage girls and a high school
sweetheart who resides in the Greater Atlanta Georgia area. She started her
blog as a hobby in 2012 and has since worked with leading brands and been
featured in top publications.
In this interview, Lou shares her journey and insights on how she turned her
passion into a successful career.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): Hi Louida! It's great to have you here today for this
interview.
Louida: Hi! Thank you for having me. I'm excited to chat with you.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): So, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how
you got started with Product Review Mom?
Louida: Of course! Well, as you already know, my name is Louida
Martin and I'm the founder of Product Review Mom. I actually started the
blog back in 2012 as a hobby to document products I've tested out. And over
time, it evolved into a full-time business.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): That's really impressive! So, what kind of topics do you
cover on your blog?
Louida: I cover a variety of different things that I enjoy in life,
like beauty, travel, fashion, entertainment, food, cars, money-making
opportunities, and more! I partner with brands to help get the word out
about their awesome products and services.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): That's really interesting. What would you say sets
Product Review Mom apart from other product review blogs out there?
Louida: I think what sets us apart is the fact that it's a family
business. My daughters often share their opinions as well and work behind
the scenes. It's not just me writing blog posts, but it's a team effort.
Additionally, my articles rank well with search engines and perform well for
years, giving my clients a return on their investment.

Elliyas (COMPROMATH): That's definitely a unique aspect of your business. So,
what's next for Product Review Mom? Any exciting projects or partnerships in
the works?
Louida: We're always working on exciting projects and partnerships!
Right now, we're working on expanding our reach and partnering with even
more amazing brands. We're also looking to grow our social media presence
and connect with even more readers and followers.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH):What inspired you to start Product Review Mom, and
how did you turn it into a full-time business?
Louida: I started Product Review Mom back in 2012 as a hobby
to document products I've tested out, and it has since turned into a
full-blown, full-time business (LM Marketing, LLC).
I've always enjoyed trying out new products and sharing my thoughts and
opinions with others. As I started to gain a following on my blog, I saw the
potential to turn it into a business by partnering with brands and offering
sponsored content. It took a lot of hard work and dedication, but I'm proud
to say that I now make a living doing what I love.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): You cover a wide range of topics on your blog. How do you
choose which products or services to review, and what's your process like?
Louida: I choose products and services to review based on what
I think my readers would be interested in. I also take into account my own
personal interests and experiences. For example, I love trying out new
beauty products, so I tend to review a lot of skincare and makeup items.
Once I've decided on a product to review, I typically test it out for a few
weeks to get a good sense of its quality and effectiveness. I then write a
detailed review that includes my honest thoughts and opinions.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): You've worked with both big-name brands and small
businesses. How do you decide which partnerships to pursue, and what's your
approach to working with brands?
Louida: I'm always looking for new partnerships with brands
that align with my values and interests. When considering a partnership, I
look for brands that offer high-quality products or services that I think my
readers would appreciate. I also look for brands that are committed to
ethical and sustainable practices. When working with brands, I take a
collaborative approach and try to create content that is both informative
and engaging for my readers. I'm also transparent with my audience about any
sponsored content and always strive to maintain my authenticity and
integrity.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): Your blog has gained significant recognition, including
being featured in top publications like Dr. Oz, The Good Life, First for
Women's, and Woman's World Magazine. What's your secret to success, and how
do you maintain your readers' engagement?
Louida: My secret to success has been consistency and
authenticity. I strive to produce high-quality content on a regular basis
and to always be honest and transparent with my readers. I also make an
effort to engage with my audience through social media and by responding to
comments and emails. By building a strong relationship with my readers, I've
been able to maintain their engagement and loyalty.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): You involve your daughters in your business. How do you
balance being a mom, a wife, and an entrepreneur, and what advice do you
have for other moms who are looking to start their own business?
Louida: Balancing motherhood, marriage, and entrepreneurship
can be challenging, but I've found that setting clear boundaries and
prioritizing my time is key. I try to carve out specific times for work and
for family time, and I make sure to take breaks and practice self-care when
I need it.
As for involving my daughters in my business, it's been a great way to teach
them about entrepreneurship and to spend quality time together. My advice
for other moms who are looking to start their own business is to be patient
and persistent. Starting a business takes time and effort, but if you stay
committed to your vision and work hard, you can achieve great things.
Elliyas (COMPROMATH): That sounds really exciting. Well, thank you so much for
taking the time to speak with us today, Louida. It was great learning more
about you and your business.
Louida: Thank you for having me! It was a pleasure speaking with you.
