Exciting Changes Coming to iOS 17: What You Need to Know

Apple's upcoming iOS 17 update is set to deliver more than was initially planned. The company changed its strategy during the development process to add some much-anticipated features to the iPhone operating system.

This has generated a lot of excitement among Apple enthusiasts who are eager to find out what new features they can expect.

Exciting Changes Coming to iOS 17: What You Need to Know

Rumors about iOS 17 suggest that the update will address some of the long-standing issues and complaints users have had with previous versions.

Initially, reports suggested that iOS 17 would lack multiple headlining features like its predecessor iOS 16. Instead, Apple asked the development team to focus on fixing bugs and improving overall performance.

This decision was made after users reported a subpar experience with iOS 16 despite the several new features it introduced.

However, the latest reports suggest that iOS 17 will now pack some "nice to have" features iPhone users have long requested. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman revealed in his Power On newsletter that iOS 17 will now include some of these requested features, although he did not provide any details about what they could be.

One rumor that has been circulating for some time is that iOS 17 could allow for sideloading of apps from outside the App Store. This follows new European Union laws designed to reduce the control of tech giants over mobile app stores.

While this move would be welcomed by some users, Apple is expected to establish stringent security requirements for third-party app stores to protect user privacy and security.

They could also charge a hefty commission, making third-party app stores financially unviable.

Code-named "Dawn," iOS 17 will be revealed to the world during Apple's upcoming Worldwide Developers Conference, which is likely to be held in June. This event is where Apple usually showcases its latest operating system updates and provides insights into new hardware and software technologies.

In addition to iOS 17, Apple is also expected to unveil iPadOS 17, watchOS 10, and the next major release of macOS. Apple has not yet announced the exact date for WWDC23, but invites are expected to go out next week. After a few months of beta testing, the public builds of these operating systems should be available around September.
