Windows 7 and 8.1 Users Are at Risk | No Security Updates

If you have Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 installed on your PC, you are at a security risk. Because, today (Jan 10, 2023) the Extended Security Update program for Windows 7 Professional and Enterprise editions has been finally stopped by Microsoft.

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 Users Are at Risk

Earlier on January 14, 2020, the company announced to stop security updates and technical support for Windows 7, but it has been providing Extended Security Update for so long. Due to which Windows 7 could be used with security assurance. But Microsoft said that no more updates will be given after today.

The same announcement for Windows 8.1 users, not just Windows 7. The operating system reached the end of its end-of-support on Tuesday, 10 years after the release of Windows 8.1. In the case of Windows 7, even if the end-of-support ends, the Extended Security Update that users would have received will not be provided in the case of Windows 8.1, Microsoft said.

That's why the company recommends upgrading their operating system. Windows 10 released in 2015 and Windows 11 released in 2021 are the upgraded Windows operating systems for a fixed price.
