To install RecordMyDesktop from software center, follow the steps are given below.

Step-1: Go to software center.
Step-2: Search for RecordMyDesktop.
Step-3: Click to 'Install' option.

How to install RecordMyDesktop Via Ubuntu Terminal:

To install RecordMyDesktop from Ubuntu Terminal, follow the steps are given below.
Step-1: Open Terminal from your keyboard Ctrl + Alt + T
Step-2: Run the following command. To run paste and hit Enter. Then give your system password and hit Enter to permit.
sudo apt-get install recordmydesktop gtk-recordmydesktop
Step-3: After hitting Enter you will be asked to continue. Type Y and hit Enter to continue.
Step-4: After completing installation search in search bar for RecordMyDesktop and you will see and icon as below. Click on this icon to launch this software.

Step-1: Launch RecordMyDesktop. Then you will see a dialog box as below.

Step-3: After completing 'Save As' to save recorded file. You can get help from top bar red icon for this.

Kazam
Kazam is another popular desktop screen video recorder software in Ubuntu. Personally I prefer to record with it.

How to install Kazam from software center:

To install Kazam from software center, follow the steps are given below.

Step-1: Go to software center.
Step-2: Search for Kazam.
Step-3: Click to 'Install' option.

How to install Kazam Via Ubuntu Terminal:

To install Kazam from Ubuntu Terminal, follow the steps are given below.
Step-1: Open Terminal from your keyboard Ctrl + Alt + T
Step-2: Add Repository.
Run the following command. To run paste and hit Enter. Then give your system password and hit Enter to permit.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kazam-team/unstable-series
Step-3: Update available.
Run the following command. If available it will show. Type Y and hit Enter to continue.
sudo apt-get update
Step-4: Install Kazam.
Run the following command.
sudo apt-get install kazam
Step-5: After completing installation search in search bar for Kazam and you will see and icon as below. Click on this icon to launch this software.

Step-1: Launch Kazam. Then you will see a dialog box as below.

Step-2: To record/screencast click on 'Capture' option.
You can predefine caputred screen size by choosing 'Fullscreen', 'All screens', 'Window' and 'Area'. You can also predefine the delay time with + and - signs.

Step-3: After finishing record click the red record icon in title bar and click 'finish recording'.

Step-4: Save video.
